Decide what you want to keep and what you want to get rid of
When it comes to hair products, we all have our favorites that we can’t live without and those that we’ve been meaning to try but never got around to. But no matter how many products you have, or how often you use them, it’s important to keep them organized so you can find what you need when you need it. Here are a few tips on how to organize your hair products so you can keep your routine running smoothly.
1. Start by taking everything out of your cabinets, drawers, and closets. This will give you a chance to see exactly what you have and decide what you want to keep and what you want to get rid of. If you haven’t used a product in 6 months or longer, chances are you won’t use it again and it’s time to say goodbye.
2. Once you’ve sorted through your products, it’s time to start putting them back in a way that makes sense for you. If you have a lot of products, consider investing in some clear storage containers so you can see everything at a glance. You might also want to keep similar items together – shampoo and conditioner together, hair styling products together, etc. – so they’re easy to find when you need them.
3. One final tip is to label everything! Whether you use sticky labels or chalkboard labels, this will help ensure that everyone in the family knows where things go and can easily find what they need.
Find a place to store your products
Finding a place to store your products is the first step in organizing your hair products. You will need to find a place that is cool and dry, away from direct sunlight. A closet or cabinet works well for this. If you have a lot of products, you may need more than one storage place.
Once you have found a place to store your products, you will need to decide how to organize them. Hair products can be organized by type, by brand, or by use. You may also want to create a special system for storing products that you use frequently.
Organize your products by category
Start by taking everything out of your cabinet or drawer and grouping like items together. You’ll probably have products for curly hair, straight hair, frizzy hair, etc. Once everything is sorted, put items back in the cabinet based on how often you use them. For example, if you only straighten your hair once a week, your flat iron can go in the back of the cabinet. If you have multiple products for the same purpose (i.e. two different leave-in conditioners), put the one you use most often in the front.
Put your products in order from most to least used
First, take inventory of all the products you have and identify which ones you use most frequently. These are the products you should keep within easy reach. Next, group together similar items, such as all your styling products, all your haircare products, etc. Finally, arrange the items in each group from most to least used.
Label your products
To keep your hair products organized, it helps to label them. This way, you will know at a glance which product is which. You can buy labels at any office supply store or online. Be sure to get labels that are waterproof and fade-resistant.
